A JOURNEY WITH JOAB!

Hello Friends,

Welcome to my cottage! This is a place where I want to meet with those remnants the Lord intends to use to change the future; a place where I can share my heart with likeminded people and relate God’s extra-ordinary stories in my ordinary life. The journey is going to be awesome!

DICKU CALLED TO GLORY

January 15th, 2011

Our son, Dicku 25, left for his heavenly abode.

DICKU, OUR BELOVED SON

Dicku suffered a lot from sickle cell anemia and passed into a major crisis during December. While he was still in the hospital, it pleased the Lord to call him home on January 7, 2011 at 12:45 A.M.

We want to thank all those who have been praying for us and been an encouragement.  The Lord has finally relieved Dicku of all health hazards and awful pains.

We had the burial of his mortal remains on January 8 at 11:00 A.M. and a glorious memorial service on January 9, 2011 at 7:00 P.M. Bishop John Gollapalli and Bishop Narendra John led both the services.  Hundreds of pastors and ministers from across the country were present to express their love and sympathy.

Dicku impacted thousands of lives in so many ways during his 25 years of earthly sojourn. He traveled with us to different parts of Asia and stood alongside in the work of the ministry. One of his many contributions was the COLLISION youth conferences being held every summer. Thousands of young people have found meaning to their lives and followed Christ through these events.

He had a huge heart for the poor and the sick.

A family friend who knew Dicku closely for many years and watched him grow says, “I loved Dicku and always appreciated his spiritual passion, his musical gifts, his leadership skills, his ability to minister to others in small group or before a large crowd.  I know that his life touched so many – his peers and younger people and even his elders.  He had a bright smile and a warm heart – a servant of God and an encourager of others.  He will not be forgotten.”- Doug Corlew.

A few hours before he passed away, I spent some very precious moments with him on his hospital bed.  When he saw me burst into tears, he said: “Do not cry for me, Dad. I am not at all worried about dying.”

Dicku would have turned 25 on January 29, 2011.

Your prayers and words of comfort meant so much to us. We are trying with God’s help to recover from the shock and the grief.

With Greatest hope,

Joab, Suchitra & Kittu.
