LUCI MORGAN IN ACTION

Lucy became the center of attraction during those three days of conference. She too loved being a blessing to 150 men and women who had come out of a severe persecution. All of them have lost everything they had when the rioters terrorized them to leave their homes, then looted their belongings and set their houses on fire. There were three women among them whose husbands had been killed because they were not willing to recant their faith in Christ.

 My dear friend and partner in the ministry David Goodnight lead a team of seven. The other men on the team were Pastor Ben Sigman, Pastor Carl Brannon, Mark Olson and his son Josh. Lucy’s mother Ginny Morgan too was a part of the team and shared her heart with the afflicted community. 

DAVID GOODNIGHT AT A PLENARY SESSION

                                                                                                                    The conference began with a parade in the Immanuel campus. There were heaven-rent shouts of praise to the Lord, roof-raising worship and prayer. David, Ben and Carl ministered the word. They all dwelt on the Kingdom of Heaven. Ben Sigman is a Messianic Jew. It was great to hear his perspective on the Kingdom of Christ.

 David gave a moving message at the concluding session. His message was based on Divine Yes. Drawing a few examples from the life of Stanley Jones, he challenged the gathering to remain committed to divine mission and the unshakable kingdom. There was the clear evidence the Spirit of God pervading the congregation; everybody was brought to his knees in a prayer of surrender to the Divine Yes.

WASHING FEET OF THE AFFLICTED

There was a feet washing ceremony at the end. 9 men and 3 women were chosen to represent the entire body of the suffering church in Orissa. There were sobbing and tears as the overseas visitors washed their feet and prayed for them.

An offering was taken for 3 widows of the martyrs. The response of the audience was very generous. These dear women are being supported financially every month since last January.

WIDOWS RECEIVE HELP

Shirts and Saris were given away to all participants. They all received it with a flash of smile. We needed to see this joy on their faces after all the terrible hardships that they have gone through.
